Avant son mandat chez Bloomberg, M. Inman a été éditeur pour l’Amérique du Nord au Financial Times Business Magazine. Auparavant, il a été journaliste pour United Press International et a notamment été nominé pour un prix Pulitzer pour ses articles sur le crime organisé, la corruption en Russie ainsi que les abus dans les contrats de la Défense américaine.
